Common Side Effects of the COVID-19 Vaccine 

We are so blessed a vaccination, or three, has been made and pushed out worldwide. It is critical the persons getting the COVID-19 vaccine know the common side effects of the treatment. Most side effects will subside in a few days. So, this would be an excellent time to take it easy for a few days after each shot. 

Common Side Effects of the COVID-19 Vaccine 

The reactions created are promising and indicate the vaccine is working hard on you. And some people may not even feel a thing. Whichever type you are, there are normal reactions that tell your body’s fighting to immunize you. Likewise, there is a time to call your doctor. Here are the typical reactions: 

  • Injection site pain

  1. Drink plenty of fluids.

  3. Move and use your arm on the day of injection.
  4. Wear clothes that do not restrict movement and are lightweight.

When Is It Time to Call the Doctor? 

Patients who have received the vaccination should call their local doctor if experiencing any of the following. 

  • The redness or tenderness where you got the shot continues to increase in size and swelling and does not begin to subside after 24 hours. 
  • If your side effects are concerning or do not seem to be going away after a few days, it is best to call the doctor. 
  • Should you feel you may be having an allergic reaction, call for emergency services.
