Barbados Offers You the Chance to Work from the Beach

Implementation of the New “12-month Barbados Welcome Stamp” Offers Hope.

Dream for a moment of gorgeous beaches, tropical landscapes, a gentle breeze, and a cold glass of coconut water. You are on the Caribbean Island of Barbados. Sounds like a relaxing vacation, right?

How about if we sweeten the deal and say you can live on the beach in Barbados for a year and work remotely from your home country? Would you make that relaxing vacation spot your home for a year?

Well, according to Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, you CAN! She has recently approved the plan to allow citizens from other countries to come to Barbados for a twelve-month stay while working from other countries.

This new plan is called the “12-Month Barbados Welcome Stamp”. This stamp will provide three significant benefits to the island:

  1. The program will increase residency in Barbados.
  2. It will grow the economic activity. Real estate, hotels, leisure activities, and restaurants will all benefit from the increase in population.
  3. Possibly the most critical consideration is for those already living and working in Barbados. This plan allows natives to retain their jobs and not get crowded out by new residents.

It sounds like a Win-Win… WIN!

“We recognize more people are working remotely, sometimes in very stressful conditions, with little option for vacation. Our new 12-month Barbados Welcome Stamp, a visa that allows you to relocate and work from one of the world’s most beloved tourism destinations.”

Mia Amor Mottley, Q.C., M.P. - Prime Minister of Barbados

Of course, there are Covid-19 considerations and restrictions, but those are happening everywhere. With some careful planning and an approved application from Barbados, you can live the dream and Work from Paradise.
