Caribbean Week of Agriculture 2023: Excitement Mounts as Anticipation Builds, indeed. Look forward to a week of activities that are aimed towards celebrating the 25 by 25 food security initiative, which is meant to enable a healthier Caribbean lifestyle.
What to Expect The Week of CWA
The 17th CWA will be in The Bahamas at the Breezes Resort and Spa, Nassau, from October 9-13, 2023.
The proposed theme for CWA 2023 is "ACCELERATING VISION 25 BY 2025". To date, there have been 16 successful iterations of the CWA. The first CWA was held in Trinidad and Tobago.
Significant stakeholders in agriculture and related subjects will have an opportunity to bring together a shared vision for agriculture development and how to develop ideas to enhance rural life for those in the Caribbean.
Key Objectives:
Development of Caribbean Agriculture Week
Established in 2001 under the aegis of the Alliance for Sustainable Development of Agriculture and the Rural Milieu ("The Alliance"), today's CWA Secretariat is comprised of four key regional agencies that mandate agriculture and rural development.
These agencies include the CARICOM Secretariat (CCS), the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Should You Attend CWA?
If you are an agriculture enthusiast, you should attend, no questions asked. But also consider joining us if you are an entrepreneur, technical expert, policy maker, manufacturer, buyer or seller of agriculture products, or a student. You don't want to miss this event!
