Good news: the Caribbean is entering its cool season. But what exactly does that mean? In this article, you'll find insight into what this cool season will bring for the natives of the Caribbean.
Typically, the summer weather is hot with a lot of rain. But now that December has started, you can expect fantastic weather ahead for the Caribbean from December to April.
What to Expect from the Winter Weather in the Caribbean
December to February will enjoy more comfortable temperatures and lower humidity levels. In fact, December to April is when the Caribbean gets many travelers. And why not? It's the ideal weather. So many people in the States experience snow, so getting away to a tropical oasis with warm, dry weather is a dream come true.
Temperatures in the Caribbean range from mid-60s to mid-80s Fahrenheit, which is 24-30 degrees Celsius. But, of course, temperatures can be higher or lower depending on the time of season. Depending on your tolerance, bring light layers to shed as needed. Either way, pack your sunscreen and enjoy this amazing weather in the Caribbean.
The Two Big Seasons
Of course, the Caribbean has a tropical climate for the most part. Which means it's warm and humid year-round. But the Islands mainly have two seasons. For example, Belize's wet season stretches from June to December. On the other hand, you have Cayman Island's much shorter wet season, which is from May to October. Some destinations (including Cancun, the Dominican Republic, and St. Maarten) also get an additional mini-wet season in May, which experiences higher rainfall than April or June.
Plan Your Trip to the Caribbean Islands Today
If the weather in the Caribbean sounds refreshing to you, now is the time to go. Enjoy your winter in the sun, on the beach, with a drink in your hand. This beats snow plowing your driveway and wearing thick layers any day!
