Miss Puerto Rico, Karla Guilfú 

Congratulations to Miss Universe Puerto Rico, Karla Guilfú, who was crowned at the Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce in San Juan. Hailing from Patillas, the 24-year-old psychology graduate was selected by the judges, taking the new "Evolución" crown. There she competed against 29 beautiful and accomplished competitors. 

1. First runner-up was Miss Río Grande, Xarimar Acevedo.  
2. Second runner-up, Miss Toa Baja, Kiara Rivera Escudero 
3. The third runner-up, Miss Isabela, Fiorella Medina. 
4. The fourth finalist, Miss San Lorenzo, Israel Román Almeda. 

The Miss Puerto Rico Pageant 

The event showcased the contestants' beauty, poise, and intelligence as they vied for the honor of becoming the face of Puerto Rico on the global stage. 

Through a rigorous selection process involving interviews, talent demonstrations, and elegant presentations, one exceptional candidate was chosen to proudly represent the vibrant culture and spirit of Puerto Rico at the prestigious Miss Universe competition. 

This year's Miss Puerto Rico pageant, hosted by José Santana and Estefanía Soto Torres, Miss Puerto Rico 2020, was packed with guest performers. The stars included none other than Tommy Torres, Luis Figueroa, and Carlos Vives.  

The judges panel was made up of a Miss Universe 2018 Top 5 finalist Kiara Liz Ortega, several other models, fashion experts, and various businessmen.  

About the Winner, Karla Guilfú 

With undeniable and striking beauty, Miss Guilfú is a mental health and social justice advocate with an intense love for philantropy.  

Guilfú is clearly a pro in the pageant world, having previously competed in the Miss Supranational 2021 competition, where she placed first runner-up. Just after the Miss Puerto Rico pageant, Karla won the Mujer de Valor award from L'Oréal Paris. 

Karla Guilfú is a Puerto Rican model who was previously crowned Miss Supranational Puerto Rico 2021 and went on to compete in Miss Supranational 2021, placing 1st Runner-Up. 

Puerto Rico Looks Forward to 2023 Miss Universe 

With a contestant like Miss Guilfú, Miss Puerto Rico fans have high hopes for taking the 2023 crown of Miss Universe in November at the 72nd Miss Universe Pageant. 

The anticipation now builds as Miss Puerto Rico prepares to shine and compete with women worldwide for the coveted title.
