The Royal Caribbean will launch the biggest ship in the world, the Wonder of the Seas, for the first time on March 4, 2022. This record-breaking vessel will depart from Fort Lauderdale, FL, and tour the Eastern and Western Caribbean on a seven-night cruise, stopping at cruising favorites Nassau, Roatan, and San Juan. It will also visit the cruise line's private island destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay. Then, in May, the ship will begin its Europe summer tour, sailing from Barcelona to Rome to explore the Mediterranean. In November, the Wonder of the Seas will return to Florida and depart from Cape Canaveral to embark on a second tour of the Caribbean.
The Wonder of the Seas can hold up to 6,988 guests, 2,300 crew, and has 18 decks and 2,867 staterooms on board (traveloffpath.com). Described as the "world's newest wonder" (royalcaribbean.com), the Wonder of the Seas raises the bar for fun, adventure, and luxury. Part of the Royal Caribbean's award-winning Oasis Class, the Wonder of the Seas features eight distinct neighborhoods, each with its own distinct amenities and entertainment options. The all-new Suite Neighborhood is unique to this ship and is accessible only to those staying in suites. Here, guests can enjoy a cocktail at the cruise line's first-time-ever cantilevered pool bar, the Vue. Guests in the Suite Neighborhood can also relax at the plunge pool, lounges, and a private restaurant (businessinsider.com).
Also featured on board is the AquaTheater, which is set to host engaging entertainment showcasing stunning ocean views and a dramatic new backdrop (businessinsider.com). The Wonder of the Seas also features a completely redesigned pool deck that is vibrantly Caribbean themed "with more ways to soak up the sun—or shade—than ever before" (royalcaribbean.com). Also debuting on the Wonder of the Seas is the all-new Wonder Playscape, "an underwater world studded with slides, climbing walls, and games, where imaginations can soar" (royalcaribbean.com).
Returning favorites to the deck include The Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea; FlowRider, a surf simulator; and Central Park, the neighborhood filled with real plants from end to end (cruisefever.com). “The innovative, new ship invites adventurers of all ages to reimagine, explore, and make memories once again" (cruisefever.net).
