Sea Kayaking Route in the Caribbean

Dominica's Waitukubuli Sea Trail has made it to National Geographic's cool list for 2024. That's right, Dominica snagged a spot in the magazine's pick for the top thirty countries to visit in 2024. Today, we're going to talk about the amazing adventure of the sea kayaking route in the Caribbean.

This route was named after the island in the language of the indigenous Kalinago people, and it complements the 115-mile trail. The trail was established over a decade ago and is known as the Caribbean's longest hiking route. This trail played an important role in shaping the Dominican's reputation as being focused on a nature-centric destination.

The Cool List of 2024

The Cool List of 2024 in the National Geographic magazine lists the top places to visit in 2024. The editorial teams' top picks range from roaring wildlife to the calmer seas of islands.

"Whether it's culinary excellence, solar eclipses, night trains, new national parks, rewilding initiatives, ancient wonders revisited, or cultural landmarks, we've curated some of the best travel destinations for the next 12 months. From Canada, the US, and Argentina to Sierra Leone, Sikkim, Australia, and beyond, the world is represented in all its full glory," Pat Riddell, editor of National Geographic Traveler, stated.

"The Cool List 2024 also has a strong focus on the UK and Europe, with almost half the entries offering our readers easy access to some of the world's most alluring destinations close to home," Riddell added.

The Waitukubuli Sea Trail

The sea trail includes 14 stages, quaint fishing villages, enticing snorkeling spots, secluded beaches, sculpted cliffs, and more. This strategically placed trail has rest stops that cater to people wanting to stay overnight. Local outfitters provide equipment rentals for experienced sea kayakers and have organized guided multi-day adventures for beginners.

Dominica is upholding its mission of becoming the world's first climate-resilient nation. It will continue to build sustainable infrastructures with the help of trusted developers who have been closely working with their government since 2015.
