It is back! St. Maarten's Carnival is back from its pandemic hiatus, and the people couldn't be more excited. The official dates for the extravaganza are Saturday, April 16, 2022, through Tuesday, May 3. You see, the St. Maarten Carnival is the place to go for a high-energy, colorful and vibrant celebration right there in the Caribbean. To hear about the carnival is one thing. But to experience it is quite another.
Where can you party the days away in a carnival for 18 consecutive days? In St. Maarten, it is a time-honored tradition. Locals and visitors will pour into St. Maarten Carnival Village for the time of their lives. This celebration is kind of like a mixture of New Year's with steelpan music, calypso, soca, costumed parades, and so much more.
Carnival is all about bringing people together.
It is a celebration of life that spreads joy throughout the region.
St. Maarten Carnival is the most significant event of the year.
At Carnival, you'll witness the island's culture through the parades, dance competitions, concerts, bands, more dancing, food, drink, costumes, and feathers. And did we mention dancing?
At St. Maarten Carnival 2022
There will be approximately 80 booths for shopping, eating, and drinking at this year's carnival. You may be lucky enough o find toys, arts, crafts, clothes, and more in the shopping booths. Then on the state-of-the-art concert stage, watch Ashanti, Keyshia Cole, and Ja Rule rock the night away.
Since the first carnival in 1970, the islanders have made it a point to be ready with costumes and the like for this special island time. Last year the pandemic took away Carnival. Not this year, though!
Join St. Maarten for this epic celebration of the Caribbean way of life.
