The Top Ten Caribbean Islands According to Travel & Leisure

In September of 2021, Travel & Leisure came out with their list of the top 25 Caribbean Islands according to the open voting survey results. The goal? Well, it is pretty simple. Travel & Leisure, travel advocates, hotels, and the Caribbean Islands want to encourage travel again in 2021 after the devastating results of the global pandemic.

Additionally, the readers of Travel & Leisure love the Caribbean Islands. These islands were rated by the following:

  • Activities and sights
  • Natural attractions and beaches
  • Food
  • Friendliness
  • And Overall value

Are you ready to learn the results of the survey? Beginning with the number 10, here is the countdown as reported in Travel & Leisure.

10. AbacosIslands, Bahamas

9. St. Bart’s

8. Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands

7. Turks and Caicos

6. Eleuthera, Bahamas

5. Anguilla

4. St. Lucia

And the Top Three Include:

Number Three is stunning Aruba with a score of 88.72, famous for its walkability, beaches, and the locals. They call themselves “The Happy Place,” and all who visit agree. In addition, Aruba boasts the most sunny days of all the Caribbean islands, pristine beaches, and crystal-clear water.

Comin in Second with a score of 88.74 is Harbor Island, Bahamas. Harbor Island is a sister island to number 6, Eleuthera. This island is known for its pink sand beaches, Georgian architecture, and wild beauty. And the streets are full of colorful clapboard houses that are a must-see and a delight. It is quite a hidden gem.

And in first place is St. Vincent and the Grenadines, scoring 91.69. With its unique low-key and old-school Caribbean vibe, there is plenty to do in the area. This multi-island Caribbean nation is home to rainforest eco-adventures, Classic white beaches, yachting and sailing, scuba diving, and luxury accommodations.

  • Spend a day on Bequia Island beaches or the best beaches in Canouan.
  • Visit St. Vincent Botanical Gardens.
  • Swim with the turtle at Tobago Cay’s wildlife preserve.
  • And be sure to stroll through the market in the capital, Kingstown.
  • Take notice of Petit St. Vincent, which is a tropical fantasy island.
  • Book a hiking tour of La Soufriere Volcano.
  • Visit Mustique, where stars like Mick Jagger, Tommy Hilfiger, and Princess Margaret visit.
