PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project is located on a farm of 3,700 plots, of which there are 3,100 plots planted that were planted in three phases. The project is already 40% in production and the rest would be in production in 2026-27.

Why a high-performance cocoa project?

The high-performance project consists of executing it on the basis of cocoa clones. While the hybrid cocoa that serves as a base produces between 1 ½ and 3 pounds of dry cocoa per plant, the available clones produce between 5 and 8 pounds of dry cocoa per bush.

Currently we have about 60,000 clones planted in production. These clones are 5 well-adapted varieties, while the rest of the plantation is hybrid cocoa to clone and complete a clone plantation.

For this process, 13 high-yielding varieties were chosen and a “Garden of Clones” was set up in the project. 50% of the Garden's bushes are in production.

The “Clone Garden” ensures the genetic material to clone all varieties of hybrids and convert the entire project into high yield.
